Video Capsule Endoscopy

Video capsule endoscopy (VCE)

A small camera constructed within a capsule-size casing is swallowed and images from the camera are transmitted to a mall electronic receiver worn by the patient.

The image from the capsule endoscopy can detect subtle mucosal lesions that may not be apparent on small bowel x-rays.
